Volunteers

Springboard for Children seeks to combat the disaffection, alienation and frustration experienced by children who struggle with literacy in areas of social and economic disadvantage in London and Manchester.

Volunteers are really valuable to Springboard for Children. They receive quality training to tutor children with  literacy difficulties in a one-to-one setting supported by qualified tutors. Together we aim to challenge the effects of underachievement and break the cycle of frustration and failure that can have a detrimental effect on children's life chances.

We have a number of opportunities for people to become volunteer literacy tutors and supporters in schools across London and in Romford and Manchester. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and changing a child’s life then please find out about our Volunteer Programmes:

Internship
Part-time Volunteering

We also have other volunteer opportunities based in our London office for both Finance and General Administration.  If you would like any more information regarding our volunteer opportunities, please email  or call 0207 921 4550.

I have complete admiration for the children who have come through the doors.  It’s amazing to watch their courage, confidence and determination grow term by term. It’s been a real privilege to work with them one to one.
